Community Outreach Lead vacancy.

Healthwatch Staffordshire are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our staff team as Community Outreach Lead.

If you are awesome at meeting new people and easily able to start up conversations, then this maybe is the role for you. As a Community Outreach Lead, you will use your strong networking and relationship building skills to identify opportunities to get out into the community to gather feedback from the public about their experiences and views on local health and care services.

You will spend a lot of your time out and about speaking to people and working with local groups and organisations from all communities and groups. A key skill will be the ability to reach out to and engage with groups and communities that are often classed as hard to reach or seldom heard. Can you go that extra mile to make these terms things of the past? You will work with the Healthwatch Staffordshire team, including volunteers, to develop a vibrant programme of creative activities, events and projects which will provide opportunities for all local people to influence the development and shaping of health and social care services.

This is an incredible opportunity for a pro-active person who is keen to have a direct impact on shaping health and social care in Staffordshire that will improve the lives of local people so that the local health services and social care support services are geared to their needs. You will also be promoting volunteer activities and supporting the recruitment of Healthwatch volunteers and encouraging people to subscribe to our news and information services.

Previous experience in Outreach and Engagement and educated to A level standard or Equivalent Vocational Qualifications is essential, experience of working within the volunteer sector and seldom heard/hard to reach communities desirable. Healthwatch Staffordshire is the independent champion for local people’s voices in health and social care across Staffordshire. This service is delivered by Engaging Communities Solutions CIC (ECS), a Community Interest Company that also delivers nine other Healthwatch contracts across the country.

We aim to ensure that organisations work better together. We do this by putting local communities at the heart of making decisions about their care and by providing real insight and engagement solutions to our partners, and by giving the local community a very real and powerful voice to make change where needed.

Salary: £20,000.00 to £22,500 per year dependent on previous experience, skills and knowledge.

*This post will be primarily home based. Healthwatch Staffordshire have a base in Stafford Technology Park which you may be asked to attend when required. There is a need for the post holder to have the ability to drive around Staffordshire to attend public events/engagements and events.

** Currently Healthwatch Staffordshire staff are working from home in line with Government guidance. Staff are undertaking their outreach/engagement activities electronically via MS Teams and Zoom and by phone, as we are unable to carry out outreach/engagements face to face at this time.
