Help shape Staffordshire’s SEND Strategy
Staffordshire County Council and Staffordshire’s Cinical Commissioning Groups are working with others to improve the way children with ‘special educational needs and disabilities’ (SEND) are supported.
An important part of this is agreeing a set of principles that will guide the way professionals across education, health and social care will support children and young people, as well as setting out the commitments made by our communities and families. These principles will then form Staffordshire’s SEND strategy.
We want to hear from as many people as possible before we work with a small group of professionals, parents and young people to set out a draft, formally consult on it and then agree it.
Tell us your thoughts on what works well when supporting children with SEND, what could be improved and your ideas for what could be done differently by completing a quick online form.
A number of face-to-face engagement sessions were planned during March and April to gather people’s views and experiences to inform the content of the SEND strategy. However, to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), the SEND Strategy face-to-face sessions have been postponed until further notice.
