National Lockdown guidance for England.
We are now in national lockdown. This means that you may only leave home for limited reasons permitted in law, such as to shop for essentials, to work if you absolutely cannot work from home, to exercise, to seek medical assistance such as getting a Covid test, or to escape domestic abuse.
- Colleges, primary and secondary schools will remain open only for vulnerable children and the children of critical workers.
- All other children will learn remotely until February half term.
- Early Years settings remain open.
- Higher Education provision will remain online until mid February for all except future critical worker courses.
Full details of what you can or cannot do are available here

If you are clinically vulnerable, you could be at higher risk of severe illness from coronavirus. There is additional advice for people who are clinically extremely vulnerable to coronavirus. Those who are clinically extremely vulnerable should not attend work, school, college or university, and limit the time you spend outside the home. You should only go out for medical appointments, exercise or if it is essential.
