Relocation of Wound Care services in Burton-on-Trent
We would like to share this information from Jennie Collier at Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Care Group
“I am writing to inform you Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT) is due to relocate its adult Wound Care services from Branston Primary Care Centre, in Burton-on-Trent to nearby Hill Street Health & Wellbeing.
The move to Hill Street is due to be completed by 13 October and will provide additional clinical space for the delivery of Wound Care services, allowing for extra appointments to be made available for patients.
Hill Street currently hosts a range of services under one roof, including Podiatry, Musculoskeletal (MSK), Falls Prevention, Speech and Language Therapy, Specialist Pelvic Health, Dietetics, and Heart Failure.
By co-locating Wound Care with these other MPFT services, the Trust will be able to deliver a more integrated and streamlined offer for local people, reducing the need for multiple visits as appointments with different services can be coordinated for the benefit of the patient. This also aligns with the neighbourhood hub model outlined in the new NHS 10 Year Plan.
The service has liaised with all patients on its current caseload to inform them of the move and discuss the new arrangements. Service users will be able to contact the service through the same telephone numbers should there be any queries.
Free parking spaces are available at Hill Street for service users, with designated disabled spaces. It is also widely accessible by public transport. The clinic is accessible to people with disabilities and offers an ample waiting area.
If you have any queries, please email communications@mpft.nhs.uk. Thank you.”
