Staffordshire County Council – Coronoavirus Update

This week, the Government issued new advice on staying alert and safe as we take the first steps to lift the lockdown.

In brief, this means that you should:

  • stay at home as much as possible
  • work from home if you can
  • limit contact with other people
  • keep your distance if you go out (2 metres apart where possible)
  • wash your hands regularly

Do not leave home if you or anyone in your household has symptoms of coronavirus.

What you can and can’t do.

Recycling Centres open for essential visits

We are working hard to keep Staffordshire as clean and safe as possible.

Following Government guidance we reopened all 14 recycling centres in Staffordshire yesterday, with temporary rules and traffic management in place, so that Staffordshire residents can visit them for essential use only.

Please only visit a recycling centre if it is essential and you cannot safely store excess waste at home or dispose of it through your usual kerbside collections.

You will need to observe social distancing measures and the number of cars allowed on site will be restricted, so be prepared for longer waits than normal.

Phased reopening of country park car parks

Updated guidance from Government means that you can now travel to sites and take unlimited exercise, as long as you follow social distancing rules.

To support this, we have started to reopen car parks on our country parks.

Facilities on the parks will remain closed – this includes visitor centres, toilets, cafes, play areas and barbecue facilities.

Car parks open.
