We are recruiting for Healthwatch Staffordshire Advisory Board Chair and Members

Healthwatch Staffordshire Advisory Board Chair Healthwatch Staffordshire is the independent champion for local people’s voices in NHS health care and social care in Staffordshire, and it is delivered by Engaging Communities Solutions CIC (ECS). Healthwatch Staffordshire, was established in April 2013 with the primary aim of improving the services offered to local people in the areas of NHS health care, adult and children’s social care by collecting their stories of the experiences of receiving care and support, then taking these to the decision makers to seek to influence the improvement of services locally or equally of sharing good practice. We are looking to recruit an Advisory Board Chair who shares our passion for improving NHS health care and social care in Staffordshire. You will need to be able to bring local knowledge and contacts to support the Healthwatch Staffordshire Advisory Board deliver its statutory and strategic objectives and its annual Work Plan. You will need to provide leadership and inspiration for the Healthwatch Staffordshire (HWS) Advisory Board so that it delivers its Purpose of: reaching into local communities; acting local; strategic planning based upon local views and needs; being connected and able to influence local and regional decision makers; and; innovation in delivering Healthwatch and using such to exchange learning across the wider network.   You will need to local knowledge of health and social care services ideally being connected with groups and organisations to be able to help Healthwatch Staffordshire extend its reach into all communities especially those who experience long standing health inequalities. An Advisory Board Chair role is varied with both practical support to help us collect the voice of people as well as helping to inform the Healthwatch’s strategic planning and thinking in turn growing its supporter base and enabling us to have greater reach with both local decision makers and service providers. We are looking to recruit Advisory Board Members who share our passion for developing Healthwatch Staffordshire as the ‘independent champion’ for NHS, public health and adult and children’s social care services across the County. You will need drive, energy and enthusiasm and the ability to play a leading role in maintaining our vision. You will need to have experience of organisational development, a knowledge of health and social care landscape, effective cross-sector partnership working with voluntary and community organisations and the ability to involve local people.
